Wellness Workshop – Breath In, Stress Out: Guided Meditation

We curated a guided meditation workshop tailored specifically for the specially-abled students of the new cohort of the PATHS Program at Texas A&M University. This workshop aimed to provide students with practical tools and techniques to manage stress and enhance their overall well-being. We had a well-trained mediation practitioner from SKY TAMU student organizations to facilitate the session.

Our session began with guided breathing exercises to help the students center their minds and relax their bodies. We then introduced various meditation techniques, such as mindfulness meditation and body scan meditation, to help them achieve a state of inner calm and focus. The students were encouraged to share their experiences and challenges, fostering a supportive and inclusive environment. Throughout the workshop, participants learned how to integrate meditation practices into their daily routines, empowering them to cope with the demands of academic life and beyond. The feedback from the students was overwhelmingly positive, with many expressing newfound confidence in their ability to manage stress and maintain mental clarity.

By the end of the session, the students had not only acquired valuable skills but also felt a sense of community and support from their peers. This workshop was a testament to the transformative power of meditation and the importance of mental wellness, particularly for specially-abled individuals.

Global Entrepreneurship Week at Sacramento State University, California.

Our Founder and Healing Partner, Ramya Tulasi, seized a wonderful opportunity to pitch Healing Circle’s business aspirations at the Global Entrepreneurship Week at Sacramento State University, California. Through an engaging Elevator Pitch, Ramya presented our vision and goals to a panel of experts. This presentation provided invaluable insights into crucial aspects such as the strategic importance of location, diverse revenue models, the formation and structuring of legal entities, various revenue channels, securing grants and funding, and establishing a robust advisory board.

The mentors posed critical questions and highlighted key points, prompting us to rethink and restructure our business plan. This feedback was incredibly enriching, offering a fresh perspective on our strategy. Attending the business conference also opened doors to connect with local Sacramento entrepreneurs, fostering meaningful discussions on the dynamic landscape of business ownership.

Exploring the intricacies of funding and gaining insights from diverse perspectives further enriched Ramya’s experience and our strategic planning. The event not only enhanced our understanding of the business world but also equipped us with the knowledge to refine our approach.

We look forward to implementing the feedback received and continuing our journey toward making a significant impact in the field of mental health and wellness. This experience has strengthened our resolve to achieve our goals and expand our reach.

Art Therapy workshop in collaboration with Texas A&M Galleries.

In collaboration with Texas A&M Galleries, we hosted an inspiring art therapy workshop. It’s not just about creating art; it’s about unlocking the power of imagination and self-expression. We are so grateful for the amazing experience of our first successful session and can’t wait to see where this journey takes us.

Art therapy activity

  • Writing Down Weighing Thoughts: Start by writing down everything that’s weighing you down on a white paper. Let out all your heavy thoughts and emotions without holding back.
  • Expressing Stress Through Art: Take a colored pencil or crayon and express your stress or burden through different lines and patterns. Choose colors that represent your current emotions or mood.
  • Releasing Stress: Crumple up the paper and squeeze it like a stress ball. Keep ripping it until you feel lighter inside out. Take your time to feel the lightness of the paper.
  • Creating a Symbol of Freedom: Take a second piece of paper and collage your ripped pieces onto a bird, piece by piece, to represent freedom. Decorate the bird with colors and imagery that make you feel free.

This exercise is all about acknowledging the past and present, letting go, and making peace with your life.
