Wellness Workshop – Breath In, Stress Out: Guided Meditation
We curated a guided meditation workshop tailored specifically for the specially-abled students of the new cohort of the PATHS Program at Texas A&M University. This workshop aimed to provide students with practical tools and techniques to manage stress and enhance their overall well-being. We had a well-trained mediation practitioner from SKY TAMU student organizations to facilitate the session.
Our session began with guided breathing exercises to help the students center their minds and relax their bodies. We then introduced various meditation techniques, such as mindfulness meditation and body scan meditation, to help them achieve a state of inner calm and focus. The students were encouraged to share their experiences and challenges, fostering a supportive and inclusive environment. Throughout the workshop, participants learned how to integrate meditation practices into their daily routines, empowering them to cope with the demands of academic life and beyond. The feedback from the students was overwhelmingly positive, with many expressing newfound confidence in their ability to manage stress and maintain mental clarity.
By the end of the session, the students had not only acquired valuable skills but also felt a sense of community and support from their peers. This workshop was a testament to the transformative power of meditation and the importance of mental wellness, particularly for specially-abled individuals.
